Physical Description: Solid, compact build; sturdy frame thanks to thick, muscular thighs and legs. Athletic; not much room to fill out or add strength; build similar to former Major Leaguer Mark Ellis.
Hit: Hands start and stay back through load; set just above the letters with a high back elbow; wide base with a modest leg kick entering load generating average bat speed. Approach is over-patient; takes walks but strikeouts will be a problem. Struggles to make consistent contact. Overall, below-average hit tool. Grade: 40
Power: Surprising power given his frame; extra base hits almost exclusively to the pull field. Shows average, but contact issues and role will suppress home run totals. Grade: 40
Field: Above-average fielder; smooth actions defensively with soft hands that would play fine in the middle infield. Good instincts and versatility; able to play anywhere in the dirt. Consistent, reliable defender up the middle. Grade: 55
Arm: Average arm; makes expected plays with accuracy. Clean, quick transfers from the glove; capable of making throws on the run. Would be fine at either middle infield spot. Grade: 50
Run: Some regression through the Minor Leagues but still an above-average runner. Quick, choppy steps to get down the line; light on his feet. Home to first 4.25-4.30; sits more toward above average times. Runs well on the bases with instincts, but likely not a candidate for double digit steals. Grade: 55
Overall: Versatility in the infield and ability to draw walks will give him a shot at a Major League roster but his bat will determine his ultimate role and how long he sticks. Not likely to hit his way into an every day role. Has the makings of a utility player in the Major Leagues but would profile best at second base.
