Physical Description: Strong, well-proportioned physique with some positional versatility thanks to athleticism. Wide shoulders with lean strength. Upper body more developed than lower body. Room for muscle in quads and thighs. Long arms with general room for muscle across the board.

Hit: Wide stance with low hands and a slightly angled hips. Very minimal stride. Swing can be a little handsy, lacking much wrap. Contact-oriented approach lacking power, though potential to impact the ball exists in frame. Ideal VBA does lead to good launch angles, though bat speed could improve with mechanics. Contact-oriented hitter with line drive approach to all fields and short barrel path. Good feel for the strike zone and ability to manipulate the barrel. As it stands, he's a hit over power guy with a good hit floor of a guy that should draw his walks and get on base. Grade: 50

Power: Certainly a hit-over-power guy that lacks coil and wrap. Bat speed lacks because of mechanical inefficiencies. Bat path is promising, though without some tinkering to current leverage, the ceiling is limited. There's fringy power in the body and bat path should adjustments be made. Grade: 45

Field: Soft hands and a quick transition at third base. Positional versatility suggests he could handle second base or even left field if necessary. Quick reactions and strong lateral mobility suggest he should have no problem sticking at third base so long as the bat impacts enough to keep him there. Grade: 55

Arm: Great, fluid arm action with plenty of strength. Very easy, comfortable. Accuracy has never been an issue. History of pitching helps support his profile as strong-armed corner guy. Grade: 60

Run: Fringy runner with some lumber to his frame out of the box. Gets out of the box well, but takes some time to get up to speed. Has a bit of a second gear as he rounds a base. Should the body get bigger to add power, could fall a grade. Grade: 45

Overall: Schunk is a professional hitter with a good approach at the plate and a slick defender at third base. There's some questions as to which direction his body will go and how potent the impact could be in the bat. As it stands, it's a utility floor with good on-base skills and a late-inning defensive asset.
