Age: 23 yr
Height: 6-0
Weight: 185 lbs
Hits/Throws: L/L
Acquired: 2019 Round 5
RuleV: 2022
Physical Description: Average height, body has little projection on it. Built similarly to a slot receiver in football.
Hit: Slight squat at the knee, simple set-up at the plate. Quick to the ball, looks to spray the ball to all fields. Contact tends to be hit weakly on the ground, he also tends to get over aggressive when he swings which results in his fair share of whiffs and leads to bad contact. Rave has shown an average understanding of the strike-zone and has drawn his fair share of walks in the lower minors. Grade: 40
Power: Average bat-speed with below-average raw strength but his bat path results in him hitting the ball on the ground. There is a lack of natural loft in his swing which hampers the overall power output. Grade: 40
Field: Can play any of the three outfield spots in a pinch, profiles best in left-field because of his fringe average arm. Shows above average range for a corner-outfielder and makes quick reads with efficient routes to the ball. Grade: 55
Arm: Fringe-average arm, he makes accurate throws but lacks the overall zip one would want to grade out as average. Grade: 45
Run: Above-average runner when underway, pairs said speed with quick jumps on the basepaths. Profiles out as a double-digit stolen base guy if given the greenlight to steal. Grade: 55
Overall: Rave shows the ability to play any outfield spot in a pinch, and he is an above average runner. He has the feel of a low-end fourth outfielder who can pinch-run for you late in games if he can work to add more loft to his swing, but as currently constructed he is a role 30 player.
