Physical Description: One of the most physically imposing athletes in the 2020 MLB Draft. Tall, strong, wide-shoulders outfielder with immense strength that comes from a lean, muscular frame. Long levers and explosive movements on the field. So much so that he can get a little outside of himself at times.

Hit: There's a lot of moving parts in Wiemer's swing. Plenty of bat waggle pre-load and an exorbitant leg kick have gotten in the way of consistent contact. Despite the long, anxious swing mechanics, Wiemer draws his walks and isn't overly aggressive at the plate. He hunts fastballs and absolutely punishes mistakes. It's a line drive swing right now that lacks consistent barrels, but when he connects, it's loud. Grade: 40

Power: One of his potential calling cards. It's 70 raw, but only 50 game right now. The moving parts and inconsistent swing plane have made lifting and launching difficult. Wiemer produces outlanding exit velos, something his organization will try to harness more consistently. If he learns to lift the ball and drive the ball with more regularity, the sky is the limit in terms of natural impact ability. Grade: 50

Field: Despite the big body, Wiemer is a supreme athlete and can handle any outfield position. The arm and lack of natural routes to the ball suggest he fits best in a corner where he's a half grade better than average. Grade: 55

Arm: His second carrying tool. Absolute howitzer in either corner. Best outfield arm in the 2020 class. Already one of the best outfield arms in minor league baseball. Was up to 98 on the mound at the University of Cincinnati. Smooth, fluid arm action plus natural athleticism suggests the tool should age well so long as durability holds. Grade: 70

Run: Very good runner. Long strides and body doesn't lumber. The physique for a guy his size will need to be tracked as he ages, but early in his career, could be an asset on the basepaths, certainly in the field. Grade: 60

Overall: Wiemer is about as raw as they come. The clay to mold here is substantial, and the raw tools are considerable. If his organization can tap into even a fringy hit tool, the game power should come where he has a chance to become a 20-20 player with semi-regular playing time. If the swing plane adjustment doesn't take, he could wind up a career minor leaguer.
