Physical Description: Tall muscular build, slightly above average height for a catcher, physically maxed out but in good physical condition.

Hit: Sets up square to the pitcher, slightly closed, quiet stroke, good angle on bat, minimal movement in the lower half. Average bat to ball skills and hand eye coordination. Some power at the point of contact that leads to a fair percentage of flyball and hard line drive contact. Heavy pull side approach. Looks to jump and turn on any fastball on the inner-half. Good zone hitter, needs to improve patience at the plate. Grade: 45

Power: Shows the ability to tap into power to his pull side and the reports from instructional ball have been strong. He puts the ball in the air with regularity and has continued to add in-game power over the last year plus. Good bat angle and plate coverage allow him to drive the ball to all fields. Grade: 50

Field: Converted to part time catching his junior season at Washington. Has continued to improve and the organization has heaped praise. Comfortable and athletic in crouch, pop times average or better, and his receiving has continued to make strides from below average early in 2019. Chance to develop into an average defensive catcher, needs to improve his game calling skills. Grade: 45

Arm: Average arm behind the plate, natural third baseman still improving his ability to catch and throw. Had around a 40% caught stealing rate in Low-A Asheville in 2019. Surprisingly high awareness behind the plate. Not scared to keep runners on their toes with accurate quick throws to first. Grade: 50

Run: Below average runner but does move well underway. Station to station for the most part but not the slowest guy on the field. Grade: 40

Overall: Improving overall profile and an underrated player in the system. Has a chance to carve out a role as a backup catcher at the major league level. Improving defense and enough bat that he can be a league average offensive producer at the catcher position. Needs to see continued development in the catch and throw part of the game. Continues to make strides at a demanding position.
