Physical Description: Long limbs to his body, athletic frame. High waisted pitcher. Some projection remaining to his frame. Drafted in the 5th round of the 2020 Draft out of Florida State.
Delivery & Mechanics: Throws from a three-quarters arm slot with a loose arm. Hides ball well, creating some deception to his delivery. High leg kick triggers delivery, threw from the third base side of rubber at Florida State.
Fastball: Not the most overpowering offering in his arsenal, but has solid late sink to the pitch that sits in the low-90's (91-93 MPH) and has topped out at 95 MPH in the past. More velocity could be added as his frame matures and adds weight/muscle. Solid spin rates. Grade: 50
Curveball: Best secondary offering in his arsenal. Showcases plus spin rates with 1-to-7 shape and great depth. Tight rotation to the pitch. Sat in the high-70's in college. Can be effective against left-handed hitters if he can locate the pitch better. Grade: 55
Changeup: Has a feel for pitch, but needs improvement/consistency to be a true weapon in his repertoire. Velocity in college was 80-84 MPH. Fringe-average pitch at best. Grade: 45
Control and Command: Has worked on improving his control throughout his college career, especially in 2020. However, he struggles to find the strike zone, as showcased by his 69 walks across 73.2 innings in college. His athleticism will help his delivery become repeatable and will certainly help him throw more strikes. Control: 40 | Command: 40
Overall: Has good upside for a college pitcher that struggles to find the zone. If he can improve his fastball command and overall control, he could have a chance to remain a starter for a little bit longer. However, his future resides in the bullpen.
