Age: 21 yr
Height: 5-11
Weight: 160 lbs
Hits/Throws: S/R
Acquired: 2016 IFA
RuleV: Eligible
Physical Description: Stocky, athletic build, thick, powerful lower half
Hit: Starts from a slightly open stance and moves into a fairly significant leg kick, quick bat, makes hard contact from both sides but more polished from the left side, patient hitter who can take a walk, strike outs remain a concern Grade: 45
Power: Bat speed exists to add power, tends to hit more liners and grounders than fly balls, this allows Ramirez to utilize his speed but takes away from his ability to hit homers, would benefit from added loft in this area but could be a catch 22, has shown more power as of late but the average has taken a hit Grade: 40
Field: Very smooth, quick transitions, get to ball quickly, does everything you want a middle infielder to do, covers a lot of ground and could stick at SS Grade: 50
Arm: Strong arm with good carry, would translate well into role as utility player Grade: 55
Run: Plus tool, has shown to be an aggressive runner who will take any extra bases given to him, quick out of the box, efficient base stealer Grade: 60
Overall: Profiles as a potential spark plug type middle infielder, biggest question remains the bat, at this point it seems to be hit or power rather than hit and power, strike outs remain an issue, likely outcome of a super utility type who can fill in just about anywhere but the tools are there to be a steady climber up the rankings if the power and hit can start to play together.
