Physical Description: Undersized for today's prototypical baseball prospect. Looks and plays like the usual high motor, utility player, scrapper. Team leader. Baseball bloodlines with both brother and father.
Hit: Solid hit tool, hit .453 in 61 games during 2019 JUCO season, then .252 during pro debut in the Appalachian League (52 games), the truth lies somewhere in the middle whereas the jump from JUCO to pro pitching takes some time for adjustment, wide base, slight crouch, hands up behind left ear, linear swing, controls the zone well, has a good eye, works the count and draws walks, when all is said it done a potential fringe-average hit tool is on the horizon. Grade: 45
Power: Linear swing not exactly geared for power, could tap in by adding a little loft to the swing but might cost some of the average, currently good for 5-10 bombs in full year of at bats. Grade: 30
Field: Versatile glove, was primarily a catcher at Cowley College but has played multiple positions in both the infield and outfield. Best profile is likely at 2B where the glove and range would play average to slightly above. Grade: 50
Arm: Enough arm to back up his versatile glove. Above-average, accurate arm with optimal carry and decent accuracy. Grade: 55
Run: A nuisance on the bases. Uses instincts and speed to run all over opponents. A perfect 30 for 30 in steal attempts during the 2019 JUCO season and 12 for 18 in his pro debut. Might take time to adjust to pro pitchers and catchers but steals and base-running are a big part of his game. Speed allows for defensive versatility noted above, run is plus asset. Grade: 60
Overall: The positive spark plug you want on your team. Controls the zone, draws walks, has a little pop. Causes distraction on the basepaths and has defensive versatility. Super utility depth player that every team needs to give others rest while moving all around the field and pinch running.
