Physical Description: Average height; medium build. Above-average strength and athleticism. Very little physical projection remaining. Impressive instincts and hunger for success. Has bloodlines: son of legend Roger Clemens; brother of MLB draftees Kacy and Koby Clemens.
Hit: Slightly open stance; hands at the letters; crouched from a wide base. Loose handsy left-handed stroke with lots of moving parts. Plus bat speed that generates loud line drives and deep homers. Pull happy at times. Has decent pitch recognition but struggles with discipline. Walks at an above-average clip, but strikeouts at a below-average clip. Can be exposed with velocity inside, and change-ups and breaking balls on the outer third. Grade: 40
Power: Plus bat speed. Aggressive, pull side approach. Average potential moving forward. Enough raw power and potential hitting ability to comfortably project 15+ homers with a solid amount of doubles. Grade: 50
Field: Steady, sure-handed fringe-average defender. Will make the average play. Solid hands; fringy footwork and lateral quickness. Not an asset but won't be exposed. Grade: 45
Arm: Average arm. Gets it done. Enough arm strength to handle the keystone. Grade: 50
Run: Fringe-average runner. Hard out of the box but lacks a second gear. Primarily a station to station guy on the base-paths, but he'll swipe the occasional extra bag. Grade: 45
Overall: Low risk profile that predominantly features a summation of fringe- average to average parts. Should the approach and hit tool deficiencies shore up and exceed my below-average assessment, there's a potential solid bat first second-division regular profile. Realistic future is a solid bench bat with some pop that plays adequate defense.
