Physical Description: Short, slender build. Sloped shoulders; below-average strength throughout. Average athleticism. Live energetic body.
Hit: Switch hitter. Slightly open stance; high hands; slightly crouched with a wide base from the right side. Slightly closed off from the left side. Modest toe tap timing mechanism on load. Below-average bat speed and a linear bat path. Primarily a slap hitting contact guy, just looking to put the ball in play. Has pitch recognition and some discipline; decent bat to ball. Works counts to occasionally extend at-bats. Plays within his game. Shows the ability to sacrifice himself and hit behind the runner. Overall, a well below-average tool. Grade: 40
Power: Bottom of the scale tool, with minimal remaining projection. Below-average bat speed. Simply lacks the necessary strength, bat speed, and bat path to adequately drive the ball with authority. Occasional extra-base hit will likely be a result of his legs. Overall there's bottom-of-the-scale, over-the-fence and extra-base power in his profile. Grade: 20
Field: Plus defender with great instincts. Enough skill and feel to adequately play anywhere on the infield dirt. Quick feet; soft hands; quick transfers and turns. Ranges well to both sides; reads hops well regardless of their difficulty. A sure-handed defender that's automatic with routine plays, and able to execute the occasional highlight reel play. Overall: Prototypical defense first profile. With bottom of the scale power, his bat would have to drastically improve to jump into everyday regular status. Limited ceiling; high floor; likely a AAAA depth piece with some utility/platoon type upside.
