Physical Description: Long limbs, highlighted by a thick lower half. There isn't any room to add to the frame, he's filled it out well.
Delivery & Mechanics: High 3/4 arm slot. Smooth, repeatable delivery highlighted by a quick arm. Windup starts a little off center, facing the third base side. Hands start at his belt, and raise up to the top of his chest when he reaches his balance point. High leg kick brings knee to chest. Hands follow the leg down as he extends out. There's a slight amount of jerk in his head during the throwing process. He finishes with a high leg kick that ends with him bring closed off facing first base.
Fastball: 91-94 T96. Good armside sink low in the zone. The movement helps Kloffenstein to create a lot of grounders. Grade: 55
Curveball: 76-77. 11-5 break. Is a solid fourth offering that may not get as many whiffs, but will keep hitters off balance. Grade: 40
Slider: Solid horizontal movement with some depth. Generates swing and miss when used as to front door righties. Grade: 50
Changeup: 85-86. Good deception and fade. Capable of creating whiffs. Grade: 50
Control and Command: He commands his whole arsenal pretty well, and it's a good enough one to create whiffs. He will have a tendency to pull off and mess in the left handed batters box. His walk numbers aren't too bad, but they aren't bad either. Control: 45 | Command: 40
Overall: Highlighted by a good fastball, Kloffenstein has an 4-pitch mix that can be an issue for hitters. He's very good at creating ground balls with any of his pitches, if they don't create whiffs. He's got a starters build and the repertoire to last in the rotation as well.
