Delivery & Mechanics: Semi-windup; drop and drive delivery; fast arm with short claw arm action; over the top slot. Up-tempo delivery, moves fast on the mound, but often gets out of sync with timing due to how fast he moves. Somewhat stiff movement pattern.
Fastball: Shows the ability to ride and run his fastball, good shape, but lacks velocity sitting 89-92 mph. Best command is armside where he can steal strikes and get right handlers to expand. Lacks gloveside feel, best location is the higher armside quadrant. Poor command leads to somewhat scatter shot misses around the strike zone. Fringe average fastball, that could jump into average with a velocity increase. Grade: 45
Curveball: Slow loopy breaking ball sits 73-77 mph; 1-7 shape, more of a contact control pitch than a swing and miss breaking ball. Drives a heavy amount of groundballs. Dangerous when he can land it at the bottom of the zone. Primary secondary versus left hand hitters. Lacks consistent command of the pitch limiting its overall grade. Grade: 45
Changeup: High 70s to low 80s offering, late devastating armside run and tumble. Best swing and miss pitch, dominates versus right handed batters. Rarely used in same side matchups but should be used more frequently. Above average changeup. Grade: 55
Control and Command: Below average control, as Feole struggles to command his fastball and consistently hit his spots and subsequently throw strikes. His up tempo motion betrays him as he'll lose control of his arm and finds trouble landing his fastball to all zones. His feel is better for his secondaries, particularly his curveball which plays up due to his ability to hide it behind his fastball and tunnel to the top and bottom of the zone. Changeup feel is above average, lands it consistently to his armside, getting chases and bad swings. Below average across the board but heavily dragged down by a lack of command of his fastball. Overall: Future relief arm with two fringe or better secondaries. Changeup does a good job of neutralizing right handlers and curveball limits hard contact in same side matchups. Needs to add velocity onto his fastball, as it has good shape and movement but a lack of velo and pinpoint command make it hittable. One or two inning stretches with ramped up velocity could transform Feole into a viable option in a big league pen. With some concerns that range from mechanical to velocity Feole best projects as bullpen depth.
