Eddy, Matt and Ralph each submitted their lists, combined them, and out came this beauty. These rankings include J2 signings and 2019 MLB draftees. If you skipped the headline for some weird reason, these are fantasy rankings. As such, we value batters over pitchers and don’t give much weight to elite defenders just because their glove is good. Enjoy!
Top 100 Prospects - Minor Graphs Edition
I don’t know about y’all, but I was stoked over our Top 100 Prospects list that dropped a little over a week ago. I got a behind the scenes look at the process our team took and came away impressed. The guys did a great job individually and the combined list made a clear picture of who deserved to be called a top 100 prospect.
That said, I wanted to bring something to the table to supplement all of their hard work. Ever since the list was finalized I’ve been scouring Minor Graphs to find charts for each of our top 100 prospects. My goal was to get a visual that displayed an improvement in a certain area or highlighted a skill that contributes to their top 100 prospect designation.

Role 80 (5+WAR) – Risk – Moderate
1) Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (1B) Toronto Blue Jays – Heap of effusive praise commence. Eighty grades should not be thrown around lightly. I am not even sure that there should be an 80 given to a prospect every season. Only .3% or 3/1000 data points in a normal distribution fall beyond three standards deviations of the mean. An 80 on the scouting scale describes a position player who is a franchise cornerstone or potential hall of famer. This is perhaps a blasphemous expectation, but that is what I think Vlad will be. Please understand how absurd it is to give him moderate risk to reach this projection. Vlad was the best player in the fall league at age 19 and frankly looked uninterested at times. I don’t think we were watching vintage Guerrero. His bat speed and bat control were surpassed only by his advanced feel for the zone. While I view him as a 1B long-term, but that does not dampen my enthusiasm for him at all.
