Game Logged Date: 7/12/19
Teams: Fort Myers Miracle at Bradenton Marauders
Pitcher Name: Blayne Enlow,RHP
Game Note: 3 innings, 5 hits, 4 runs, 1 walk, 4 strikeouts.
Pitch Mix: Fastball, Slider, Changeup, Cutter
Pitch One: Fastball
Velo: 92-95 touched 97 from the stretch.
Movement: Pretty flat and easy to barrel, will over throw it and cut the pitch a little. Locates better high in the zone, but he’ll catch too much of the plate pitching inside to right handed hitters.
Pitch Grade: 45/50
Pitch Two: Cutter
Velo: 88-90
Movement: slight downer movement easy to track. Tips the pitch a bit with a more accentuated follow through than his fastball or slider.
Pitch Grade: 50/55
Pitch Three: Changeup
Velo: 82-85
Movement: Late armside run, not too firm, will sell it with his arm speed. Not a lot of run, but some. Infrequently used.
Pitch Grade: 35/40
Pitch Four: Slider
Velo: 81-83 mph
Movement: Hard and deep horizontal movement to his gloveside with big drop. Will show less shape high to his armside where the cut is less prominent.
Pitch Grade: 40/45
Mechanics: Windup starts with a step out before a big leg kick by which his front leg gets nearly horizontal. He drives forward quickly getting good push from his back leg.
From the stretch he starts with his waist bent and his right arm dangling and swinging in circular motion. He does this while he peers into the batter, like a toned down Craig Kimbrel. He tones down his leg kick some from the stretch as his from leg does not get as horizontal in his kick. Rushes through his mechanics.
Big Picture: Big bodied right-hander with a frame that might require maintenance as he ages. Presently in good shape, strong lower half with a pitcher’s booty. Enlow pairs four pitches, but relies heavily on his fastball + cutter combination. Has the looks of a backend starter with a middle relief floor. In the latter role his fastball + cutter combination should play up.
Command: 40/50
