This week there are no scheduled releases but there are three pre-orders to track.
This post will be updated if more news, product information and/or product drops occur throughout the week.
2024 Topps Update Series
The third and final installment of the Topps Flagship series went on pre-order on Tuesday, September 17th.
There were various formats available for purchase - a regular Hobby box, a Jumbo Hobby box, a blaster/value box + regular Hobby box bundle, and cases of regular Hobby boxes (12 per case) and Jumbo Hobby boxes (6 per case). Blaster/Value boxes were not available for individual pre-orders. Regular Hobby boxes were $87.99 with cases for $1,055.99. Jumbo Hobby boxes were $194.99 with cases for $1,169.90. The blaster/value box + Hobby box bundle was priced at $109.99. The scheduled release date is Wednesday, October 16th.
2024 Topps Cosmic Chrome
Back for year three, the space inspired Topps Chrome product went on pre-order for Topps 582 Montgomery Club members only on Thursday, September 19th.
Regular Hobby boxes were priced at $289.99 while cases were also available (I was unable to find prices for cases). The rumored limits were 2 cases and 5 hobby boxes per membership. Rumors were that cases sold out almost immediately while hobby boxes lasted for something like 15 - 20 minutes. The scheduled release date is Friday, October 11th. As an aside, it seems questionable that 582 members, which in theory is almost all about the ability to get access to pre-orders prior to the general public under the assumption that you won’t miss those more desirable releases, are losing out on that major benefit in releases like this.
2024 Topps Chrome Sapphire Edition
The popular Chrome Sapphire Edition of the Topps Flagship product went on pre-order for 582 Montgomery Club members on Friday, September 9th and then to the general public on Friday, September 20th.
Both pre-orders were priced at $349.99. The scheduled release date is Wednesday, September 25th. However, I’ve been seeing singles of this for at least a week, so this release date is really only about when breakers can start ripping and local card shops can put it on their shelves. There is one guaranteed auto per box with a 700 card checklist comprised of the Series 1 and Series 2 base checklist. As there are no short prints (just image variations of existing checklist cards), the base rookie card short prints from Series 2 - Jackson Holliday, Jackson Chourio, Jackson Merrill, and Wyatt Langford will not be in the product with base cards. They will only have autographs. You can still chase other base rookie cards like Elly De La Cruz, Jasson Dominguez, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Shota Imanaga, and others.
