After what many considered a strong 2020 draft class, 2021 is stacking up to be an equally impressive pool of eligible talent. While 2021 may not ultimately provide the depth of exemplary college pitching that 2020 did, the impending class is chock full of prep talent that figures to fill out a greater ratio of the first round than 2020 did.
These are very preliminary rankings. The high school showcase circuit is about to begin and players all around the country will begin to truly define their stock. These kids are now a year older and stronger and some are destined to rise up charts. These rankings are fluid and will be tinkered with multiple times throughout the year. We hope to push out a ranking update on a monthly basis with additional insight from scouts and talent evaluators within the industry. Scouting reports for these players will continue to grow more extensive in the coming weeks and months as we feel more and more confident with our evaluations for each player. For now, it would be futile to fully define any one player without more looks.
Without further ado, The List™
EDIT: We updated this list on June 25 using new information we received from the Perfect Game Showcase.
