How Did You Guys Rank?
As you might expect, a ton of things go into ranking a player. What’s his age relative to his level? How’s he performed recently? What’s the upside? How’s he fared against MLB competition? How valuable is he perceived in the dynasty community? All these things coalesce into one list.
Woah, Why Was There So Much Movement In A Year With No MiLB?!
Two forces were at work: graduations and new information. Especially near the top of the list, there was inherently going to be some climbs thanks to exceeded service time. We also had a chance to glean information (however scarce) from alternate training sites and MLB data. A lack of information, especially with teenagers, was also detrimental to their rankings as their development slowed.
How Often Will You Update This?
In a traditional season, we’re leaning towards monthly updates to this list. J2 signees and MLB Draft players will also call for an update when appropriate. We’ll always be transparent in our changes and aim to move players when there’s enough information to justify doing so. This is the last update of 2020.
How Should I Use This?
This list is a general guideline for the dynasty value of a prospect. Someone that’s 50 spots apart inside the top 100 means there’s a decent gap in value and skill. Someone that’s 50 spots apart from 300-350, well, they might as well be next to each other. The deeper you go into the list, the more flexible the rankings are. And once you get past 400, really it’s anyone’s game in there. But we tried our best to highlight some names that might be of interest.
Enjoy!
