The first Dynasty Best Ball leagues began drafting on Jan. 13 and we’ve had such a great response that we’re going to open up another round of leagues! These new leagues will be set up the exact same way with just a couple caveats. The price point to join is $25 upfront for the 5 years (down from $50/$250) and you can play in as many leagues as you’d like. Drafts will begin the day after they fill at 12pm EST and the last day we’ll start drafting is Feb. 4.
Within 24 hours of signing up you will receive an email with a link to the Fantrax league, as well as a link to the new Prospects Live Discord channel that will host tournament wide announcements and general chat.
What is Dynasty Best Ball?
These are low touch point 30-team leagues with a fixed five-year time frame. We’ve eliminated trading & in-season transactions and put all the focus on the initial draft and yearly off-season free agent drafts.
What does that mean? No uneven trades that ruin leagues. No churning and burning in daily leagues, or teams consistently getting the pickups needed because others neglect the waiver wire. We’ve also decided to collect all five years payment up front, essentially eliminating owner turnover.
How exactly does this work?
Using the Fantrax platform, you’ll participate in a slow draft and select 50 players from an open player universe. Once the season starts, each week your team will automatically generate a point total from the top 10 scoring hitters and top 9 scoring pitchers. After the season is over, the highest cumulative point total wins the league that year. It’s really that simple.
What else is required? During future off-seasons you’ll participate in a 10-round free agent draft. After that is completed, you’ll cut your roster back down to 50 players before the start of the season.
There will be prizes for both the winner and runner up in each league in each season, as well as the winner and runner up for the cumulative point total over the 5 year period. We anticipate multiple leagues, so we’ll have a cross-league tournament winner at the end of the 5 year period as well!
