The Tigers purchased the contract of Venezuelan utility infielder Harold Castro after they ended Michael Fulmer’s season by putting him on the 60-day disabled list. Castro functions primarily as organizational depth these days, but players that can provide adequate defense at seven different positions will have value. Unfortunately Castro doesn’t add much with his bat as he hit a combined .265/.283/.319 between Double-A and Triple-A. He also chipped in a pair of homers and five stolen bases in 103 games in 2018. Castro only struck out at an 18.5% clip, but only walked 2.4% of the time. He’s a left-handed slap hitter with above average speed and has two minor league seasons with over 20 steals, and two more with over 15 swipes. Castro is not a player I’d recommend rostering in any fantasy format.
