Triple-A - Matt Thompson

Samuel Basallo, DH BAL (Triple-A) 3-for-5, 2 RBI

He’s been struggling some in Triple-A and is slashing .233/.270/.350, which is 200 points of OPS worse than his Double-A numbers. I’m not concerned at all since he’s only 20, and I’m sure the plan is for him to spend all of next year in Triple-A anyways. Him struggling right now isn’t going to change that.

Troy Johnston, OF MIA (Triple-A) 2-for-5, HR, 3 RBI, 3 K

I’m still buying into Johnston a little bit as a sleeper and although things haven’t gone as well as I thought they would in 2024 he’s still having a decent season. I would’ve wagered that he would’ve spent most of the year in the big leagues, instead he’s hit .274/.335/.428 in Triple-A. He’s also been playing the outfield since the Marlins acquired Deyvison De Los Santos.

Nick Yorke, SS PIT (Triple-A) 2-for-3, R, RBI, 2 BB, K

Notice the position here. The big club has an opening at short. I don’t think Yorke can play there, but he’s been awesome since the trade so we will see.

Juan Brito, OF CLE (Triple-A) 3-for-5, 3 2B, 2 R, RBI

He’s a solid player that can play all over and hit. I've written about him all season, you know him by now!

Quinn Mathews, LHP STL (Triple-A) 2 ⅔ IP, H, 4 ER, 5 BB, 4 K

It’s been rough in Triple-A. Maybe it's the different baseballs? The ABS zone? His command has been awful at this level.

Chase Petty, RHP CIN (Triple-A) 5 IP, 5 H, 2 ER, 2 BB, 3 K

Petty’s Triple-A debut. The Reds have been over cautious with him to the point that you don’t even know what you have and if he’s capable of going 6-7 innings. He’s probably a future reliever just because of that.

Moises Ballesteros, C CHC (Triple-A) 2-for-4, 2 2B, 2 R

Let him win the DH job next spring and just carry him on the roster. I beg you. He’s going to be really fun. He hits!

Colby Thomas, OF OAK (Triple-A) 2-for-5, HR, 2 R, 3 RBI, 2 K

Thomas is massively underrated in prospect circles and is probably a top 100 guy based on production and productivity. It’s above-average power, some speed and strong swing decisions. Make sure he’s not available anywhere.

Double-A - Tom Gates

Termarr Johnson, 2B PIT (Double-A) 3-for-3, 2B, 2 R, 2 RBI, 2 BB, SB, CS

Third multi-hit game in the last week. What gets me more excited is that he only has three games this month with a strikeout (shhh, one of those games he had 4 strikeouts).

Gage Workman, SS DET (Double-A) 3-for-3, 2B, 3B, HR, 3 R, RBI, BB

Workman is getting more aggressive at the plate, increasing the amount of pitches he’s swinging at. The approach has paid off. He’s batting .384 in his last 21 games with six home runs.

Carlos Carrasco, RHP CLE (Double-A) 3 IP, 3 H, 2 ER, 3 K

Rehab outing. May see him in the Majors if the Guardians lock it up and want their starters to rest before the playoffs.

Nathan Martorella, 1B MIA (Double-A) 2-for-5, HR, R, RBI, K

Ok, here’s a question for you. Martorella or DDLS? I think Martorella is safer, makes way more contact but obviously doesn’t have the thump DDLS has. But if his power plays in Miami likes it’s playing in Double-A, Martorella has the raw power to hit 25 home runs. He also could have an average to plus hit-tool. Not a very sexy first baseman but someone usable. You’d like him to be your CI.

Lucas Braun, RHP ATL (Double-A) 5.1 IP, H, 4 BB, 10 K

It’s all about that slider. It’s nasty and actually that sets up the fastball and changeup. They all have the same plane at first.

Jack Perkins, RHP OAK (Double-A) 6 IP, 3 H, 2 BB, 10 K

Perkins has been amazing of late. In his last 9 games, he has 52.1 innings pitched, 70 strikeouts, 17 walks, 2.41 ERA, and allowed 2 home runs. Given his age and success, I’d like to think he could be up early next year.

Harry Ford, C SEA (Double-A) 3-for-5, 2B, 2 R, 2 RBI, SB

25 doubles and 35 stolen bases for Ford. He’s been way more aggressive on the bases this year. Unless he goes on a little bit of a binge here down the stretch, I don’t think he’s going to reach double-digit home runs. Seattle is very slow to move him through the system. That should give you some pause as a fantasy owner.

Walker Jenkins, RF MIN (Double-A) 1-for-3, 2 R, 2 BB, 2 K

He finally collected his first Double-A hit. It wasn’t like he was really overmatched, just hadn’t landed a ball in the right spot. We’ve got some very young and talented guys at Double-A now with him and Walcott that probably will be in Double-A for the start of 2025.

Abimelec Ortiz, 1B TEX (Double-A) 2-for-4, 2 HR, 3 R, 3 RBI, 2 BB, SB

Sebastian Walcott, DH TEX (Double-A) 2-for-5, 2 R, RBI, BB, 2 K, SB

Max Acosta, 2B TEX (Double-A) 5-for-6, 2 2B, 2 R

Luis Mieses, RF TEX (Double-A) 2-for-5, 2B, 2 HR, 2 R, 3 RBI, K

This looks like the box score for my men’s softball league. Every starter scored and recorded at least one hit. In fact, only two hitters didn’t have multiple hits in the game. Ortiz has turned it around big time. Kudos to you if you hung on to him. Walcott got an aggressive promotion and I’ve been hearing he looks like a different player than earlier. The decision making and swing and miss concerns aren’t as prevalent. Acosta is probably benefiting from playing in a lot of hitters' parks but he does have a good hit-tool and speed with some power. Just not sure how much. Mieses is a big boy who makes the sheet because, you know, he double-donged. I don’t think there is anything fantasy relevant there now.

High-A - Grant Carver

Roc Riggio, 2B NYY (High-A) 3-for-4, 3 1B, RBI

Three hit nights always get the job done. Riggio didn’t answer my hit tool concerns this year and it’s still a question, but he does have solid power and plays a good second base. If he could just make more contact and show it soon.

Kendry Rojas, LHP TOR (High-A) 6 IP, 4 H, 3 ER, 2 BB, 9 K

Rojas saw his stock rise up this year and continued the success into the playoffs tonight. The command improvements look real, and combined with that fastball/slider combination he really has something going. If the changeup continues to develop into a third pitch he could have a mid rotation future.

Adrian Pinto, 2B TOR (High-A) 2-for-4, HR, 2 RBI

Continues to be red hot since coming back from injury. Looking forward to seeing him with a full offseason and hopefully it carries into next year.

Single-A - Rhys White

Trevor Harrison, RHP TB (Single-A) 5 IP, H, BB, 6 K

The velo goggles are back baby! Unfortunately Harrison’s efforts could not help the Rays affiliate advance to the championship series, which speaking about championship series keep an eye out there is something that I am very excited about. Harrison’s fastball was up to 97 and by all reports on twitter was amped up for this post-season game.He had that dawg in him, ugh dude the Rays have like the best rotation in Single-A, Gary Gill Hill, Santiago Suarez, and Trevor Harrison that’s just bonkers.
